Songs of the Month

I've decided to put this up as "Songs of the Month" because I'm pretty sure these songs aren't going to last me just a week. Also, there's quite a number of songs this time so yes, it's enough (or even more than enough) for a month.

For the first 3 songs, I've got You by The 1975, Bridge Burn by Little Comets, and Friday, Don't Need It by Little Comets (again).

For some reason, I can't find the Youtube video of You which totally sucks balls. Here's a link to the song instead: You by The 1975. So this song is absolutely wonderful. I don't remember how I found it but when I did, I couldn't stop listening to it. I've actually been listening to this since January so it isn't EXACTLY a song of THIS month but it's still in my mind to this day.

Next, Bridge Burn and Friday, Don't Need It by Little Comets. I have fallen in love with both of these songs by this lovely band because they're just so fun to listen to. I found these two songs by listening to You and then I saw them with other videos on the side.

The next three songs would be Amsterdam by Imagine Dragons, Thrift Shop by Macklemore feat. Ryan Lewis, and Standing in the Dark by Lawson.

Amsterdam. This song is love. I can't explain it but it's one of those songs that I like to listen to while I'm in the car and the skies can either be sunny or a little gloomy and I'm just looking at the window and watching everything pass by and everything just feels good and right and nice. It also reminds me of the book, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green which makes this song even better.

The next song is Thrift Shop which I assume you've already heard elsewhere. The video is hilarious and so is the song. I just love the song because it's my feel-good song right now. I found it all thanks to Finn (Harries) and I've been talking about it to my siblings for a while and my older brother was wondering why I was getting into rap songs lately and I just told him that this was funny...and it is.

Also, Lawson's Standing in the Dark. You see, I've learned to love Lawson...and Andy Brown (hearts all over). To be honest, I didn't really love the song at first because I didn't realize how nice it was. And then I heard it and watched the music video over and over and finally, I found myself loving it (and Andy).

There are four other songs which weren't originally going to be here but I decided that they should be put in this post.

First would be Marina and the Diamond's Teen Idle. As much as I love the original, I also like the acoustic/live a lot more. I was quite knackered and I listened to this and it made me feel a whole lot better. My favorite part would probably be the lines, "I wanna stay inside all day, I want the world to go away".

Bastille's mash-up of The XX's Angels and TLC's No Scrubs is absolutely amazing. I just adore this so much and Dan Smith's voice will forever be awesome. I'm so glad that I found this on Tumblr because Bastille is finally getting the credit they deserve. Also the name of this album (if it is an album) is...cute (?). I mean, it's called Other People's Heartache because it's filled with covers making it other people's work, which I found quite genius.

Next would be Bastille's Pompeii. It's awesome and there should be no more explanation for this. Just listen to it.

Lastly, Run to Me by thenewno2, Ben Harper, and Liela Moss. I watched Beautiful Creatures today and this was the last song in the movie and it just stuck to me. I couldn't help but search for it and once I found it, I felt so...~magical~. And if you don't know yet, after watching a movie and liking it, I will act or feel like I was part of the movie and this song definitely brings me the whole caster/witch vibes.

So there are my songs for the month. I hope you enjoy them and I hope you don't find this post too long!

(Note: Was supposed to use the film camera today but we got home pretty late and I had no time to take pictures during the day - and I had the perfect weather to take pictures in! Oh well...)
