Albums of the Season: Teen Queens
It's starting to get cold and chilly. People are bringing out their mugs filled with hot coco or tea. Sweaters are being worn. It's that time of the year!
For the past month (or has it been two months?), I've been hooked on both Birdy's latest album, Fire Within and Lorde's debut album, Pure Heroine. These two have been topping the charts with their fantastical albums and I just wanted to share them with you.
Note: This will be a fairly lengthy post because I haven't posted in a while. Have fun!

(Didn't even realize that they were both black and white. Coolbeans.) |

Artist of the Month: The 1975
The 1975. Funky, alternative, indie rock band from Manchester.
If you didn't notice, I put one of their songs, You, in one of my previous posts (but it was only a link because they took it down from Youtube).
I've known this band for maybe more than half a year now and I've got to say that I'm loving them more and more. Since they came out with their album recently, their fame just rocketed up into the heavens. Also, ever since Harry Styles of One Direction tweeted them saying that he liked their album, that got a lot of Directioners wondering who this band was and plenty of them have become fans as well.
I recently downloaded their self-titled album. It's absolutely brilliant. My favorite songs will have to be Chocolate (a favorite of many), You, Girls, Pressure, So Far (It's Alright), and Sex. And no, I don't like Sex because of its title. It's got a really catchy tune. Everything on this album is pretty awesome. They've got a mix of fast-paced songs and slow, mellow tunes. There are about 2 songs that have intros that remind me of the 80's (and I know I was not born then but I can definitely say they sound pretty 80's) and not in a bad way.

Songs of the Month: Teen Chills
This August has been pretty rainy and I really like this weather. It's the perfect time to chill out and not do much. (Sadly, the Philippines is 'under' a typhoon right now. Please pray for us.)
These songs are all pretty calm songs for the supposed 'sweater weather'. If you like wearing sweaters and drinking hot chocolate/coffee/tea, these songs are probably for you. Or if you just want a couple of soothing tunes, you should take a look at this stuff.

Newest Find: Jinja Safari
I know I just posted my Songs of the Month yesterday but I only discovered this band today.
Jinja Safari is an Australian "indie" band that draws from "afropop rhythms, (and) tumbling island guitar" to create African-inspired "dreamy folk pop, with a melodic richness comparable to acts like Sufjan Stevens, Animal Collective and Sigur Ros" (Wikipedia).

Songs of the Month: March & April (Maybe May) 2013
Technically, the songs are for this month, April, and for last month, March (since I wasn't able to post something like this last month), as well. (And maybe even May making this post "Songs of My Summer".)
Basically, these songs are what I've been listening to for the past two months so don't be surprised if I include albums. (Hint: Two Door Cinema Club and Paramore)

Songs of the Month
I've decided to put this up as "Songs of the Month" because I'm pretty sure these songs aren't going to last me just a week. Also, there's quite a number of songs this time so yes, it's enough (or even more than enough) for a month.

Artist of the Week: Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran is love.
Some people might say he's a little overrated, some people might say he's underrated. I say he's awesome.

Youtube Time!: BriBryOnTour
So that is BertieBertG in BriBryOnTour's new video, Everything.
ISN'T IT AMAZING? I mean, just listen to it. It's so...pretty and wonderful. It's absolutely perfect. (And then there's Bertie and the pretty drawing but that's another thing.)
So BriBryOnTour or just BriBry is a musical/music-type Youtuber but he does vlogs as well, I believe. He's Irish and he's cool. He also sings well (obviously).
I have just fallen in love with most of his songs - because I'm not done watching all of his music videos - and I hope you guys like him, too. And I think he'd very much appreciate it if you guys subscribed to his channel and followed him on Twitter.
Go and enjoy his lovely music like I did!

Artist of the Week: Hoodie Allen
That is Hoodie Allen. He's a rapper.
No, I'm not joking. He really is a rapper. I mean, he looks like one, right? But I bet you didn't think that I was into that kind of stuff, now did you?

Songs of the Week: Primadonna and Drunk
This blog seems to have become a blog of my songs of the week but who cares? Okay, I do. Sorta. So the next post will DEFINITELY have to be about something else other than songs.
Anyway, back to what this post is really about, SONGS! Yes. This week's songs are Primadonna by Marina and the Diamonds and Drunk by Ed Sheeran.
Actually, the version of Primadonna that I am totally in love with right now is actually a remix of Primadonna and Viva La Vida (by Coldplay). Now, don't go judging it just yet. It's pretty cool.
(For the past 2 weeks, I've been listening to mostly Ed Sheeran and Marina and the Diamonds. I'm declaring August as Marina and the Diamonds and Ed Sheeran appreciation month!)
Anyway, back to Primadonna. It's cool and I have no idea what your tastes in music are but I enjoyed this quite a lot. (Note: There are actually a number of different versions of this particular remix so I'm giving you the video of the one that I like the most.)
The next song for this week is Drunk by Ed Sheeran. I don't think I've really mentioned the people I adore in music so if you haven't noticed, I like Brits quite a lot. I absolutely love all of Ed Sheeran's songs so don't be surprised if another one comes up in another Song of the Week post.
I've been singing Drunk for the past week and I can't stop. Aside from The A Team, this is the song that I can't seem to stop singing. I mean, I can't really relate to the song because my heart's never been truly broken before so no, I don't "be drunk to feel a little love" or something.
At first, I couldn't follow the lyrics because I thought he was pretty fast and his singing was a little off beat in a cool way but then I eventually got it. (Yay for me!)
(I am loving the girl's hair in this music video. I plan to grow my hair that long and have it that messy.)
There you have it. Two lovely songs sung by two lovely people. Enjoy!

Songs of the Week
I finally decided to just call this post "Songs of the Week" because there are actually THREE songs this time. They were actually last week's songs (just like the last post) but they're still sort of this week's songs.

Song of the Week: Goodbye Philadelphia and Heart's a Mess
Now I know that the title says SONG of the Week but I couldn't decide which one so I chose both. Also, these were actually my two songs for last week but due to the really bad case of no interneticus connectionis, I couldn't make any blog posts. (Sorry for that.)
Let's start with Goodbye Philadelphia by Peter Cincotti. This song starts of a little slow for me but then once you reach the chorus, my emotions just burst into the open air. I don't know what it is but the chorus of this song just makes me sing and I love it.
The next song for this week (more like last week) is Heart's a Mess by Gotye. You all must know of Gotye's hit, Somebody That I Used to Know and I think it's about time to move on from that song to another of his songs and this song is just lovely. Again, it's one of those songs that are fairly slow in the beginning but then once you reach the chorus, you just burst out with all the emotion in the world. Well, that's what I did anyway. I even used this song as an inspiration for a fanfic I made (you don't need to know what the fanfic is about).
Oh! One more thing - these two songs let you burst into song even if you DON'T know how to sing. I mean, it would sound much better with the right tune and all but I think if you just feel the lyrics and the melody, you'll sing it well.
I hope you enjoy these songs as much as I did and if you didn't...well, that's not my problem. See you in the next blog post!

Song of the Week: Hazy by Rosi Golan ft. William Fitzsimmons
I know that it's only Wednesday but I'm probably going to be listening to this until Saturday (maybe even Sunday). (It's been on repeat this whole time.)
This song is just so...pretty. If you could say a song was pretty, then I'd say this was pretty. It sounds so great. The lyrics may be the same but I think they just want you to get the message, you know.
If I forgot who I am,
Would you please remind me, oh?
'Cause without you, things go hazy.
I'll be honest, I kind of cried while listening to this song (I'm telling you, I'M EMOTIONAL). Maybe it was because I was reading Paper Towns (and then The Fault in Our Stars after) while listening to it but I swear, I almost cried.
The song sounds great, the words are great, everything is great.
